What do we wear? This is the most common question I hear when a family schedules a family portrait. The answer is to have everyone wearing the same colors so no one stands out. Neutral colors also ensure that people notice your faces and are not distracted by your clothing.

Parents often become frustrated when their children will not “pose” for a portrait. That’s okay! Let them play! I follow them around to get natural expressions and more cooperation than when insisting on compliance. A little bribe now and then doesn’t hurt either!
